I have had hemorrhoids in the past. They were always right on the pucker hole
sticking out a little.
Now I have one (a hard, inflamed area the size of a quarter) not on my pucker hole but about an inch to the left of it. Is this considered external hemorrhoids?
I don’t get much itching but the pain is nearly unbearable. My past hemorrhoids were also painful but not nearly as bad as this. I can barely make it through an 8 hour work day.
I have an order in to the wife for Mineral oil, Witch Hazel, and Rue Care oil. P-H doesn’t cut the mustard.
Anyway, am I accurate in my home diagnosis and am I taking the right stuff for it?
I do have insurance and have gone to the doc in the past. They basically can do nothing but prescribe something…unless you want surgery and I was told by that same doc it’s very painful and not recommended unless absolutely necessary. This is probably the first one I’ve had in 2 years.
About two years ago, I developed my first known hemorrhoid condition. After adjusting my diet and adhering to other remedies the hemorrhoid disappeared. Everything has been relatively normal since then. However, about a week ago my hemorrhoid condition came back. This time the hemorrhoid is a bit more pronounced and it appears it has ruptured since there has been some moderate bleeding. I’ve done a bit of research online and it appears many take care of the problem with home remedies. I’m hoping to do so as well by using witch hazel and a number of other suggestions. I’m prepared to see a doctor, but prefer to handle this on my own. Here’s my questions:
1. On average, how long does it take before the bleeding stops?
2. What action has proven to be most effective to stop the bleeding?
3. Can I exercise while it’s in the bleeding condition or should I be resting as much as possible?
I’m going crazy with the effects of external hemorrhoids right now and I could use some advice. I’m not able to sleep more than a hour or two and I can’t take it anymore.
What are you doing to ease the discomfort? Or what did you do when you had them? How long have you had them or how long did you have them?
Thanks for any advice.
What do you mean by using witch hazel? I’ve seen it in a clear bottle at the drug store. How do I apply it and is there only one kind of witch hazel?

I have had hemorrhoids once before and used these wipe things with witch hazel. A couple of weeks ago I was really constipated and had a monster poop, I know I should eat fiber, drink a lot of water, etc. but there was nothing I could do at the time except get it out. So I got an external hemorrhoid and treated it with the witch hazel wipes and thought it went away but now I'm pretty sure it's back. I haven't checked yet but my butt's itchy, same symptoms. So, how should I treat it? thanks peeps, I really appreciate it.
