Have been feeling unwell for a while now. I know there is definitely something not right with my bowel. I’m constantly flitting between diarhoea and constipation. Have had blood in my bowel movements(on occassions toilet bowel full of blood). Stomach is constantly bloated, passing alot of gas and occassionally get pains in the right and left side of my abdomen. Have also been feeling very weak and go quite pale. I’m hoping that it hemorrhoids or something like that. But watched my Mum’s brother die at the age of 35 due to bowel cancer and as I’m 28 its kind of scared me.. I was living in England for a few years and did go to see a doctor who did an ultrasound and said if that didn’t show anything he would send me for a colonoscopy, he didn’t and he refused and said that I was stressed out. My friends and family all say that I am one of the most chilled out people they know, so don’t know where that came from? I have since moved back to New Zealand as I had no family in the UK and have finally booked an appointment with my normal GP. I’m just wondering what other people experienced before they had it diagnosed?

I am a 27 year old female, and have had Ulcerative Colitis for around 14 years. It has been untreated all that time as well, as whatever drugs i have tried to take never agree with me. I am worried i have bowel cancer, because i have read so many times that there is an increased risk of it with colitis. I have had 1 sigmoidoscopy about 4 years ago which showed moderate colitis. I do not want a colonoscopy, i have recently had an ultrasound which didn’t show any lumps or bumps or thickening of the bowel wall.

What can i do to get this damn disease under control, without being pumped full of drugs?

I am a 23 year old male, diagnosed with Duke C bowel cancer in may 2008. I had a proctocolectomy to remove the tumor but it spread to the lymph nodes and a recent ultrasound showed mulitple lesions on my liver.
I am not so concerened whether i live or die but really just how much pain i will experience with or without medicine as i am quite sick to death of hopsitals and am not really happy of the idea of more hospital stays and/or drugs.
