Hello, I’ve had prolonged stomach pain which I believed was IBS. It’s mostly in the left lower abdomen on a specific spot. I also had constipation for more than 2 weeks now, got an external hemorrhoid which came right on its own with sitz baths. Anyway, I’ve had some weight loss recently, tho a few weeks ago I noticed weight loss of 1kg, then went slightly back but now again more weight loss of 1.5kg. I checked out all the causes of abdominal pain, symptoms point to IBS, but I also get stomach pain during and after meals. About a week ago, (sorry it’s gross) I got up and as I was walking or standing wind (fart) came out through my vagina and then the last bit of wind came out from behind. Then soon after that I started getting mild bladder pain when urinating and stomach pain of a bladder infection. Despite having gone to bed very late the past few weeks (tho I sleep late to make up for it), my stomach aches most of the time. Since the weight loss, and bowel problems (constipation) I wonder if I may not have cancer?? Could I have cancer?
The urinary symtpoms are gone. I’m just worried about the constipation (hard stools-only bad thing is I don’t drink enough water), constant stomach pain which kept me awake a few nights forcing me to take pain tablets which helped and the weight loss (tho this could be due to lack of sleep, but my apetite is also down).
Ok, this is a serious issue, mature responses only.
I’m a 22 year old female who has suffered from occasional episodes of hemorrhoids for about two years. In the past year, it has happen over 3 times, and it’s becoming a nuisance and embarrassment because I am sexually active. I’ve tried all OTC ointments, wipes, eating more fiber, sitz baths, with little results. I just want it to go away.
So I scheduled an appointment with a gastroenterologist. I don’t know if I’m wasting my time though, because my ideal treatment would be laser or some sort of immediate removal, and that’s only the case with severe situations. Mine is only mild, but it persists for weeks and I just can’t take it anymore.
So my question is, what should I expect from this visit? I’m sure the doctor will take a look at it, but is the first visit always just a consultation? I’m leaving a week later for vacation, I want him to take care of this thing now!!!!
I’ve had an external thrombosed bleeding hemorrhoid for 3 weeks now, 2 weeks ago i saw the regular doctor who told me to do sitz baths and take fiber supplements, it helped the pain but not completely. I have a proctologist appointment this week, it still bleeds, hurts and is annoying. Is there anything the proctologist could do for me to get rid of this as soon as possible that I could demand. I’m afraid he will tell me it would go away on it’s own in a few weeks or months. I want it gone ASAP.
My internal roids were painless….until my mother told me to take laxatives to go to the bathroom. After going so many times today w/t diahrea like bowl movements my hemroids are even mooore uncomfortable!!! and now they burn! I’ve tried sitz baths and my cream but it’s not helping me any now
I have had an external hemmie for two weeks. I have done everything that is recommended. I regularly exercise, added more fiber, taken baths and sitz baths, tried the topical ointment (which doesn’t work). It is sort of asymptomatic – doesn’t bleed, isn’t overly painful, the thing isn’t huge either – about the size of quarter of a grape. Only thing that does bother it a bit is when I sit for a long time. Last time I had one 5 years ago I think it took a good month to go away. Should I see a doctor about this? The stuff I have read on line indicates they will likely tell me to keep doing what I am doing and it will go away eventually. I have read where people have these for weeks and weeks. Any similar experiences out there?
