This first started on sunday with constipation and by now (Friday), the pain has only gotten worse after each bowel movement. i have drastically increased my amount of fiber intake and it makes it easier to go, but the pain is still excruciating and i would almost say, unbearable (it really does make me want to kill myself). I have been inserting hydrocortisone suppositories once a day for the last 3 days (since i got them) before bedtime and when i awake in the morning, all feels a LITTLE better until i have another bowel movement… thats when it feels all flared up/inflamed again and im worried because it doesnt seem to be getting much better. After the last bowel movement i just had, it seems my hemorrhoid is no longer internal.. because i can feel the source of pain with my finger and its outside now thats why i put the "prolapsed" in quotations because it’s self-diagnosed and i may/may not be wrong Im not sure whether i should seek emergency care? the pain is so bad even when im not camping in the restroom and i dont know what else to do! ive been trying warm sitz baths, wiping with medicated preparation h wipes, using preparation h cream and suppositories after every bowel movement, taking tylenol for the pain, and inserting hydrocortisone suppositories each night before bedtime and it still hasnt gotten better. im literally sitting here researching right now, trying to decide if i should drive myself to the nearest hospital right now. helpful advice is greatly appreciated, thank you
So…. I have had hemorrhoids for a few months now. It was self-diagnosed, but I know for sure it’s what I got (I’ve done a crap load of research.) At first, it was really really really bad to the point where I would cry, but then I started watching what I eat, drinking a lot more fluids, taking sitz baths, using Tucks pads (the ones with witch hazel) and using the cream as well, and they got a lot better. They come and go every now and then, but I start putting the cream on them and they get much better. Anyways, I was wondering if there was any way to get rid of them permanently. They shrunk and are sometimes not even noticeable, which can be very exciting, haha, but there is always a tiny bump where they used to be (they’re external ones, yuck.) So do you guys know any way I can get rid of them almost, if not entirely, permanently? I know I can get surgery, but I wanna know if anything else would greatly help it anyways. Even if you don’t have a way for them to go away permanently, any tips that helped you heal faster would be very much appreciated. Thanks so much in advance! This is kinda embarrassing ![]()
Despite it’s small size (I’d estimate its circumference a fraction larger than a pea), it is rather painful. I’ve researched them, and apparently they never go away completely (as is the case with more extreme cases anyway), but like I said my condition is very minor and I was wondering whether there was any way to treat it without prescription or medical attention. I’ve heard of a high fibre diet, frequent consumption of water and sitz baths, but I’d quite like to acquire as much information as possible – how long will it take to heal, how useful are each of these techniques, etc.
This has never happened to me before, I have had a thrombosed external hemorrhoid about the size of a grape for two days now and am in horrible pain. I am doing sitz baths a few times a day, dabbing witch hazel, with no physical changes and still tons of pain. Is this thing going to go away on its own, and how long will that take? I’ve heard they can burst which would help with the pain so is there anything I could do to make that happen or am I at the point of no return and need a doctor…Serious answers only please.
I hope someone out there can give me some advice/insight…
Approx 3.5 weeks ago (after some heavy lifting- moving furniture) I developed a very painful hemorrhoid, I experience some bleeding. After 4 days I went to the doctor (a dr i have never been too and would not prefer to go back to – did not seem to know what she was talking about). Based on a visual exam (pain was too intense to do any further exam) She told me that I was experiencing both hemorrhoids and anal fissures. She had to call in another dr (who did not examine me), he prescribed proctosol hc 2.5% and recommended stool softeners and sitz baths. A follow up appointment was not recommended or scheduled. It has been 12 days since that appointment- while I am much better than I was I am still experiencing moderate to severe pain 90% of the time. The problem felt like it was on my left side, over the last few days I have started to experience mild pain/discomfort on the left side of my vagina, my perineum also appears swollen and is somewhat tender. Deification has improved, it is not regular yet and pain is increased afterward.
Should I been 100% better at this point – is it normal to take nearly a month to recover from something like this or could there be something more serious going on? I have experienced hemorrhoids only once before – mild pain, went away in a few days. I am otherwise in good health and shape. I hope that someone as some legitimate advise – aside from "go back to the doctor"
Thank you
