I am a 27 year old female, and have had Ulcerative Colitis for around 14 years. It has been untreated all that time as well, as whatever drugs i have tried to take never agree with me. I am worried i have bowel cancer, because i have read so many times that there is an increased risk of it with colitis. I have had 1 sigmoidoscopy about 4 years ago which showed moderate colitis. I do not want a colonoscopy, i have recently had an ultrasound which didn’t show any lumps or bumps or thickening of the bowel wall.

What can i do to get this damn disease under control, without being pumped full of drugs?

i usually only open my bowels once a fortnight.i have started taking 2 laxatives on a friday night so that on saturday afternoon i can have a poo.will taking laxatives increase my risk of bowel cancer?

How can I reduce my risk getting hemorrhoid? I’ve never had them but I am terribly afraid that I may get them during my pregnancy. Almost every woman (including my mother) in my family has had them and I’m afraid that I have that same percentage of chance. What causes hemorrhoids and how can I reduce my risk of them? I read about butt squatting exercise but thats all.
