I started getting hemorrhoids yesterday when I have a bowel movement, and noticed blood on the toilet paper. It went away a few seconds later. Online it says to let your doctor know if you experience any rectal bleeding, but I know what it’s from, so do I worry about it? Thanks. (22 weeks pregnant)
I have had what I have assumed are internal hemorrhoids for years. I believe so because that is what the ER doctor told me when I went there for rectal bleeding.
He left me feeling pretty stupid about coming in for that and I sat around for 5 hours for him to do nothing. The rectal bleeding was during bowel movements and accompanied with severe lower right abdominal pain that makes it hard to walk. My abdominal region was very tender.
That is what I am feeling now. In addition, there is a lump in my anal area that I don’t believe is usually there. I am not really having rectal bleeding, but there is some blood on the tissue and mixed in with my feces. It is bright red, so I assume it isn’t serious. I also keep peeing.
I have been trying to get a check up with my doctor for a while, but now have 2 more weeks to see her.
So since I am not really having rectal bleeding, and I feel like I did that day I went to the ER for nothing, should ignore this and wait to see my doc?
Oh, I am also a 29 year old female.
I also have a dull headache.
I had some rectal bleeding and I went to see my doctor. He said it could be hemorrhoids. However, he recommended I go see another doctor that specializes in that field. So,I went to see this other doctor. ANd he recommended I have a colonoscopy done to make sure it wasn’t anything serious. So, I did. And he claims everything is okay. However sometimes when I go to the restroom, I have some rectal bleeding. Is it hemorrhoids or what? The latter doctor did say i had a hemorrhoid; but, he did not give me any medication or anything like that. What should I do?
I have internal hemorrhoids and am due for my exam. According to doctor this is what they do:
"Your doctor can tell if you have hemorrhoids by asking about your past health and doing a physical exam.
You may not need many tests at first, especially if you are younger than 50 and your doctor thinks that your rectal bleeding is caused by hemorrhoids. Your doctor may just examine your rectum with a gloved finger. Or your doctor may use a short, lighted scope to look inside the rectum.
Rectal bleeding can be a sign of a more serious problem, such as colon, rectal, or anal cancer. So if the first exam does not show a clear cause of your problems, your doctor may use a lighted scope (sigmoidoscope) to look at the lower third of your colon. Or your doctor may use another kind of scope (colonoscope) to look at the entire colon to check for other causes of bleeding."
OMG, this all sounds painful! I’m only 23. I am 5’6" and weigh 140 which is mostly muscle as I’m very active. I’m a healthy eater…fruits, veggies, whole grains…I even cook and grow my own produce instead of buying processed foods. What could be the root of my problem? I’m terrified. Help.
I don’t over work myself by lifting weights or anything strenous like that…I do bike riding, hiking, soccer, badminton, tennis and yoga.
