I think I have an internal hemorrhoid. 2 months ago, I started seeing small traces of blood on the TP when I wiped. I thought it was just dry and irritated from wiping with the dry paper, so I started using moist baby wipes. It’s been nicer with the baby wipes (feel cleaner), but I still see traces of blood on TP and wipes. I recently had a scare where I saw A LOT of of bright red blood in the toilet, and on the tissue. I didn’t feel pain, and I wasn’t leaking blood or anything serious. I waited it out, and next session was fine….no traces of blood whatsoever. Still concerned, so I started doing research, and internal hemorrhoids seems to fit the bill (no external hemorrhoids). I started taking a lot of Benefiber and drinking lots of fluids, and ever since I haven’t had a horrific bloody episode, but I still find traces of blood here and there when wiping, nothing serious. I also haven’t had any abdominal or rectal pain…..at all!

My question is….If I maintain a high fiber diet, consume lots of water, not strain and not have long sessions on the toilet; should I be concerned that internal hemorrhoids will get any worse? Will they ever go away on their own?

If your answer is "go see a doctor", then don’t bother answering my question!
I have a high deductible insurance policy, so I like to save the visits for more serious things, and from my research, it sounds like internal hemorrhoids aren’t serious, especially with my mild symptoms. Like I said, I’ve improved my diet and habits, and it’s been good. I’m just concerned about the long run.
I’d like to point out that within the last 4 years, I’ve had about 5 moments of proctalgia fugax….a middle of the night anal charlie horse.

While this is an issue I hate to talk about, I am willing to try anything to get help with this. Starting back in November I’ve been having almost constant pain and discomfort in the rectal area. I have no insurance but I was able to get a colonoscopy which revealed polyps and an internal hemorrhoid. I know surgery is an option but I know things won’t be the same if I get that done. Any real tips would be helpful. I have a great sense of humor but this is serious so please spare the sarcasm.

I know the obvious answer is keep my finger out of there, but I was curios about the seriousness of this. I don’t feel any pain or discomfort yet I recently had blood on my finger from my rectum. I haven’t seen any on toilet paper or in the toilet and I think I may have irritated a internal hemorrhoid or something. At this point I am going to take a break and let my rectum heal. If anyone has experienced this or knows about it please comment.

I have been to the doctor and have been told I have a very tiny itty bitty internal hemorrhoid.
So I have taken it upon my self to eat a high fiber diet and drink 8-10 glasses of water a day. And it went away
It only bleed a tiny bit once which is what led me to the Doctor.
But never one time since I have changed my habits.
My question is if I continue this lifestyle then should I be able to manage it to where it never protrudes
by managing them Im speaking of a 1-60year span. Not just currently I mean if I maintaing this lifestyle then will they never get bad within a 1-60 time span.

Hi, I currently have an external hemorrhoid and I have it for about 5 days now. It is about the size of a pea and I noticed that it became smaller since i first had it 5 days ago. I have been using Anugesic-HC to treat my hemorrhoid problem. Also, I noticed that everytime I have my bowel movement there is a bright red blood everytime I wipe it. This is not new to me since I got internal hemorrhoid before it happened.

However, the thing that makes me worried is that I am always seeing red marks on my underwear. The external hemorrhoid does not hurt much like it was 5 days ago but the frequent marks on my underwear makes me worried.

My question is that if it is normal? I don’t know what’s causing it but I think it’s because of the medicine I apply on the hemorrhoid but I could not afford to ignore the problem because I see the marks everytime. I am not even sure if it’s the medicine that’s causing the marks or something is leaking.

Btw, I already went to the doctor and he gave me Anugesic and he also told me that I don’t have anal fistula. Please give me a good answer and for those who have experienced external hemorrhoid I want to know if you have experienced this too. Thank You.
