I think I have an internal hemorrhoid. 2 months ago, I started seeing small traces of blood on the TP when I wiped. I thought it was just dry and irritated from wiping with the dry paper, so I started using moist baby wipes. It’s been nicer with the baby wipes (feel cleaner), but I still see traces of blood on TP and wipes. I recently had a scare where I saw A LOT of of bright red blood in the toilet, and on the tissue. I didn’t feel pain, and I wasn’t leaking blood or anything serious. I waited it out, and next session was fine….no traces of blood whatsoever. Still concerned, so I started doing research, and internal hemorrhoids seems to fit the bill (no external hemorrhoids). I started taking a lot of Benefiber and drinking lots of fluids, and ever since I haven’t had a horrific bloody episode, but I still find traces of blood here and there when wiping, nothing serious. I also haven’t had any abdominal or rectal pain…..at all!
My question is….If I maintain a high fiber diet, consume lots of water, not strain and not have long sessions on the toilet; should I be concerned that internal hemorrhoids will get any worse? Will they ever go away on their own?
If your answer is "go see a doctor", then don’t bother answering my question!
I have a high deductible insurance policy, so I like to save the visits for more serious things, and from my research, it sounds like internal hemorrhoids aren’t serious, especially with my mild symptoms. Like I said, I’ve improved my diet and habits, and it’s been good. I’m just concerned about the long run.
I’d like to point out that within the last 4 years, I’ve had about 5 moments of proctalgia fugax….a middle of the night anal charlie horse.
I have been following a low fat, high fiber diet and have had some great results. However, every afternoon I get pains in my stomach, which I know are gas from all the fiber. I am wondering if it is ok to take an over the counter gas medicine, like Gas-X for that, or can my body get accustomed to that? I dont want to change my diet because I finally found a way to lose weight without feeling deprived, but it can get real painful some days.
Is having vaginal sex a thing to avoid when you have a hemorrhoid? Will it aggravate the hemorrhoid/ causepain?
I think my hemorrhoid is internal and pushing out. What is visible is small and round and the color seems to be white/blue I guess. It is not pink.
I have been using preparation H suppositories and the cream.
I am eating a high fiber diet and taking the "gentle laxative" that has an outer coating so it dissolves in your colon.
I am taking Omega-3 Extra Strength once a day.
I am avoiding constipation foods(fried food, cheese, meat), alcohol, and caffeine.
I am drinking pure blueberry- "Just Blueberry" from HEB
I am avoiding sitting on hard surfaces.
My condition does not seem to have improved much. I was wondering if it is okay to have vaginal sex NOT anal sex.
- My question is can I have vaginal sex?
- Will having sex make the condition worse or prolong healing?
- And does anyone have any tips for getting rid of this hemorrhoid that I am not already doing?
Thanks!!
I’m considering trying to get more protein with the right amount of fiber to support it … but not overdoing the protein, I don’t wont to develop gout or anything lol! So, no I am not talking about Atkins or whatever, just changing my daily % that I eat of those categories that’s all.
Take for instance I’m thinking of the following:
1270 cal per day
Protein (27%) = 85.73g per day
Unsaturated Fat (18%) = 25.4g per day
Saturated Fat (4%) = 5.64g per day
Carbohydrates (51%) = 161.93g per day
Recommended Fiber = 45g to 70.73g per day
I am a Female
Five Feet and Three Inches
25 years of age
I currently weight 173.5 (as of four days ago, last weighed)
I am Vegan
So, "Is a High Protein High Fiber Diet a healthy diet"?
I recently had some medical problems and my Dr. put me on a strict high fiber diet, but I still want to eat the things I enjoy. Plus going strait to all fiber has me completely bloated and uncomfortable… Mexican food is my favorite and I’m wondering if it’s a good thing to eat since there are a lot of beans in their dishes along with rice… Any other suggestions on where to eat would be great as well since I do like to eat out at restaurants a lot…
Thanks in advance for your help!
