I smoke, I drink and recently have been suffering from enflamed hemorrhoids. They seem to only stop bothering me for days at a time and then *bam* they’re back. When reading on how to treat hemorrhoids I always see "stop smoking/stop drinking"…but I don’t see how either would effect hemorrhoids…so how does smoking or drinking "cause" hemorrhoids?

Hemorrhoids are the most annoying and unpleasant thing I have ever experienced. I have had external hemorrhoids twice before, and internal hemorrhoids once before, I once again have external hemorrhoids. However, I do not have enough money because of a financial crisis my family is going through at the moment to go to a medic and get the prescription for suppositories which work miracles. The only thing I could get without the prescription is the ointment called "Doxiproct" which is great, at the pharmacy they told me that external hems did not need suppositories and it was sufficient just using the ointment. However it’s been 1 week now, and the ointment does help however a day later the hemorrhoids reappear again, or whenever I do to defecate even if I do not use a lot of pressure. So it seems like this ointment is not going to "treat" and take away my hemorrhoids, just minor the symptoms for some time. How ever I do not want to keep going on like this.

Is there anything I can do?

I have had hemorrhoids since I was in the hospital, a few days after having my baby. I know this is normal, but I can’t get rid of them. They go away for a while, but then they come back. They have just come back again, but for the first time, they are internal instead of external and they are causing extreme pain during and after using the restroom. Does anyone know what the best product or remedy to stop them?

Im a "virgin" to Hemorrhoids, and i think i may have an internal one, from what i have read. Some sites say they’ll clear up in up to two months, others a week, im just wondering because the pain is annoying me, im neglecting doing certain things such as bending over, getting up because this is when it hurts most. So how long should i wait before I see a Doctor? What can I do EASILY to help it on its way? By this I mean I dont have time for 4 small baths every day, like some places suggest. I could really just use some guidance.

I have been seeing blood, just a small trace, when I go to the toilet. I assume this is internal hemorrhoids. It comes and goes and seems to be linked with constipation. Do hemorrhoids go away by themselves?
