Alright I know its gross but I need some advice. About a week and half ago I developed my second hemorrhoid of my life, my first was about 2 or 3 years ago when I was 17. The first one went away within a week or so, but this one is different. It seemed to have been subsiding, but then other the weekend it grew bigger.
My mom says that it will go away eventually, but I am worried it wont. I have been reading about people needing hemorrhoid surgery and it is scaring the hell out of me. It doesnt hurt very much, but it is fairly big and purple. I have been using Preparation H but it doesnt seem to do much. I plan to go see a doctor soon because I want to know if its alright. Do you think it will subside?
Also, I havent been working out because I dont want to make it worse. I feel like I am going to go crazy if I cant exercise soon, but I am also worried that if I do I will make it worse. What should I do?
I have some excess skin around my anus that is not painful, and I don’t recall it ever being painful. It look a little bit like labia skin, except around my anus, about the size of a small peanut. I showed my doctor, who says it is probably a remnant of a very old hemorrhoid, and told me since is doesn’t bother me, the best course is just to leave it alone.
However….I’m pretty embarrassed by it with my current boyfriend (and partners in the past). Because I’ve had it all my life, I assumed everyone had it, lol. When I discovered they didn’t, it made me self conscious, especially as I engage in anal sex. I’ve never had any "complaints", but I would still like it removed. Any experiences with this kind of removal? How long does it generally take to heal? Does it make the anus look "normal"? What techniques are the latest and greatest? My doctor seems to consider this a cosmetic surgery, and as such, thinks my insurance probably won’t cover it. Thanks for any advice.
So I think I may have a hemorrhoid. It’s not a bump, but it’s very tender and is on my anus. I heard that hemorrhoids can be under your skin too…? The thing is, I’m not very good at talking about [embarrassing] health matters with people, especially my doctor. I want to tell my family too, what do I say??? Also, I want to avoid spending money on treatments if I can help it. If I can avoid it, I would like to get a diagnosis here and learn about some home remedies [if it is a hemorrhoid.] Thanks!

My daughter just turned 3, and she has always had constipation problems. The doctor said that she has a hemorrhoid and fissure caused from straining. He told me to just give her prune juice. I am just concerned that I should be doing more. Do I use cream? Do they need removed? How will it go away? Should I get a second opinion? She’s just a little girl and she is in pain and scared to go to the bathroom. I don’t want to take her to another doctor if I don’t need to. If there is a doctor or nurse that could give me advice, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
