the doctor prescibed constipation syrup, diosper and procotosedyl since he said that i had constipation, anal fissures, piles. The doctor said to see the outcome after one week. During the medication period of one week. I ate fruits and vegetables everyday, and passed motion, NO blood was in the stool. i didn’t consume fruits and vegetables on two days, and when i passed motion today, there was blood. i am very scare now.

I’m 16 years old and I have external hemorrhoids. I got them from constipation because I don’t eat very well. They don’t ever hurt and are pretty small but I don’t like having them, it looks gross. They aren’t very big, I bought the Preparation H ointment yesterday, does that work well? I didn’t really know what to buy because I don’t need anything for relief as they don’t cause me any discomfort, I want something to shrink them.

Will I need surgery for my hemorrhoids to go away forever? Can they go away on their own if I start eating more fruits and vegetables? If so, how long can it take for them to be gone?

I’m 21 years old. So I’ve had hemorrhoids for months now. I can’t seem to get rid of them. I eat 1-2 fruits per day, lettuce, some yogurts and drink only water… I use hemorrhoid pads for relieving the symptoms. I always knew I had hemorrhoids but didn’t go to the doctors because I thought it would disappear in less than a month. Since it’s still on going, I went to the doctors 3 days ago and he’s confirmed it by checking my anus. He told me "exercise, eat fruits and vegetables" and thats it. As much as I hate the idea of going into surgery, I feel like I need it.

The symptoms of hemorrhoids I have are pain during bowel movement and then itchy/burning feeling after bowel movement. Sometimes it really intensifies after when I walk to school or doing some form of walking. The itchy/burning feel cools down when I’m sitting though. I bleed "sometimes" when the stool is super dry.

What are you guys thoughts about this? Is this a serious condition?

Those of you who’s gotten hemorrhoid surgery before, how did it go and how fast was recovery?

My diet is very low in fiber. I eat very little fruits and vegetables, rarely eat whole grain foods, and avoid beans. I recently started a diet that encourages eating many foods that are high in fiber. Now I have lots of energy, but I’m having some intestinal issues. I’m on my eighth day of the diet, so it’s too late to gradually add fiber to my diet. So how long until the bacteria in my intestine level out and I feel normal?

After slacking off, I have jumped back into weight watchers. Over the past few days, I have been eating more and more fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and more. I am experiencing discomfort that can result from a high fiber diet, but I really enjoy eating all of the fruits and vegetables I am eating right now.

What are some ways to help my body adjust to eating more fiber without reducing the fiber intake? Will drinking water help?
