Hello, I’m 17 years old and I’ve got a pretty terrible anxiety disorder so I’ve been panicking about this for literally half a month and it’s terrible.

Anyway, almost 3 weeks ago I started to notice reoccuring blood in the toilet after a BM.
A noticeable amount of blood, almost making all the water in the toilet a brightish red.
It went on for 7 days before I finally told my mom, and she took me to the family doctor.

He took a look and said there’s an inflamed bleeding hemorrhoid and a small tear or crack or whatever and he prescribed me to this cream (which is very disgusting to apply..)
He knew how long it had been happening, and that it had been happening after EVERY bowel movement and he said I’d be fine.

Is he right?
It’s been 8 days since I was given the cream, I use it twice a day as recommended.
One day the bleeding was gone all together, just one, I also happened to have diarreha that day could that effect it? Then the next day the bleeding was back!

Should I be worried at all? Should I keep taking the cream and not worry?
I’m so scared that it’s something else..

Thanks guys.
Thanks Cookie, yeah I actually am scared it’s colon cancer or something.. and it’s really scary. I know it’s most likely in my head but I came here for some sort of reassurance to tell me this is pretty normal.

I think I’ll wait another 10 days, and drink a lot of water, and ask my mom if I can use 3 of her fibre pills every day and I’m hoping it’ll clear up..

I could still use some more input, the more the better!

Since I had my kids I have been plagued with bouts of hemorrhoids. I have awful bathroom habits, eating habits and I really don’t take good care of my rectum. Its bad, and I am now in the process of paying closer attention to what goes on down there since I know I have family History of colon cancer, polyps diverticulits and the like. With that said…I have a nasty bout of hemmorhoids right now. They are definitly thrombosed (clotted). I have had them now for about a week, the clotts have been there probably 3 or 4 days. I used a whole pack of PH supositories with no relief. I have had to have the clots removed once before surgically. Is there a way for the clots to go away naturally? I’ve done warmth, cold for swelling…brings the swelling down but the pea size clots remain. Do I have to go to the drs or will they go away on their own?? Only reason I ask is because my boss gives me hell everytime I need a day off due to health issues and I just hate to have to ask her again…

is bowel cancer real? or is it same as colon cancer? if its true how would u know if u have it? plz answer asap D:

i had rectal bleeding for a couple of years but was to worried/embarrassed to say anything about it. then after having my 1st baby i told myself you need to tell the doctor. so i did and they told me to get a colonascopy (sorry dont know how to spell it)to be on the safe side.
i found out i had internal hemorrhoids. that was in Jan 07 i was 23yrs old. now i have been having bleeding again blood on the paper in the toilet water (almost like a period but not as heavy) (bright red blood) no blood in the stool. so the doc wants to send for another colonascopy.
the first test 2.5years ago showed only internal hemorrhoids and nothing else.
so my questions are…
can internal hemorrhoids cause bleeding like that?

since i had one 2.5 years ago i should be ok? right or how long does it take colon cancer to appear?

i had another baby in feb 2009 but this one was a c-section could that be causing any of my problems?

im just really scarred and i need to hear what you guys think and or have gone through!!!

thanks

I have a friend who has some possible symptoms of colon cancer. He is 22, and says when he goes to the bathroom, he bleeds a lot from his anus. He went to the doctor and they said it looked to be an internal hemorrhoid. His symptoms come and go, so my question is, if it is colon cancer, would the symptoms constantly be present? or do they come and go at different times?
Also, he said it gets worse when he eats spicy foods, and drinks alcohol.
