A few months ago i had blood in my stools, stomach pains, diarrhea and constipation. They did some checks at the surgery but didn’t know what it was so sent off a stool sample. A week later i rang up and they told me that i had a gut infection and if the symptoms didn’t clear, then go back to the GP.

The infection went and so did everything else. Apart from the blood, which did go for a short period of time but recently it has come back. The colour is a red/pink colour and sometimes its not even there.
So i have been to the doctors again but they couldn’t find the cause so have told me to book an appointment for an endoscopy.

I have had a couple of hemorrhoids during these months and told the doctor about.
This is what i thought might be causing the blood but he didn’t mention aything.

Today i went to the toilet and there was no red/pink colour in the stool what so ever, and sometimes theres no blood at all, but it was very dark today, most of the time it is normal in colour but today it seemed darker than normal. Now i’m worrying myself even more and can’t stop thinking of the worst. I ago away in a month for 3 weeks so i need to get seen asap, however i kept ringing the treatment unit all day but there was no answer so i will ring again tomorow – which is making me even more worried.

I can’t stop panicing now and im scared of telling my mum as i really don’t want her to worry because i know for a fact that she will. Which will make me feel even more worse. She would be so understanding and helpful but i really don’t want her to panic which is making it really hard for me to tell her.

Has anybody had similar symptoms and found out what the cause was? As always im fearing the worst :( I am 20 years old, male. Somebody please help me i really don’t know what to do, and the thought of waiting to actually get seen in really scaring me in what results they might find :(

please no jokes this isnt funny, thanks for your time
p.s – this is embarrassing but i dont care anymore. I have a habbit of tensing as if i was trying to push out stools. Don’t know why i do it i just do. Could this be causing strain on my bowels?

For the last 3 years I’ve been suffering from regular bleeding episodes when going to the toilet. This may typically occur once every couple of months and last for about a week with bright red blood filling the bowel! As I am currently in remission from an unrelated rare form of cancer, every symptom I experience is always a bit of a concern. I’ve had a colonoscopy some 12-months ago and all was clear, been to the GP on a number of occasions and his conclusion was hemorrhoids which I can try using ointment, live with it or consider surgery! Regular checks with my oncologist seem to present with no cancer related issues, but I still get quite alarmed and concerned when I see a blood stained toilet bowel! Any knowledgeable and educated opinions would be appreciated.
Oh, I also didn’t mention that I am not experiencing any physical discomfort other than occasional itchiness!
