My granda is eighty years old, he has anemia and they have found a lump in his bowel.
The doctors are going to remove it but will be doing a biopsy to see if it is cancer.
I was just wondering what the chances are that it is cancer?
Any information will be appreciated, xx

About 2 days ago I noticed a bright red streak of blood after a bowel movement, naturally I freaked out and immediately became very worried, I looked up possible causes and found that it could be piles or an anal fissure, or at worst cancer, and found that if it is an anal fissure water and fiber will help. So I started to drink more water and eat foods with more fiber, the next time I had a bowel movement I could not notice any more blood and so dismissed it as nothing. Today though, my bowel movement was quite large and hard to pass, I also noticed a slight stinging/burning on one side of my rectum, and I noticed another small amount of blood in a small piece of stool. I haven’t been experiencing any other symptoms apart from the slight stinging/burning and otherwise feel fine, I should also mention that I only noticed the blood after a large stool that was difficult to pass. (as I said, I haven’t been drinking much water/keeping up my fiber intake) I will most definitely be seeing a doctor as soon as possible to rule out anything serious, but would just like to be reassured as I am a bit of a hypochondriac and tend to over think things and work myself up over something that’s not as bad as I’m thinking. In short, I had a large and difficult to pass bowel movement, after my next bowel movement I noticed blood on the surface and on one side of the stool, I worried and researched what it could be, started drinking more water/getting more fiber, next bowel movement was average and I couldn’t notice any blood, started to feel less worried, next bowel movement was again large and difficult to pass, I noticed a stinging/burning feeling that was present, and here I am now, worried again about what could be causing it, the blood is red, not exactly dark, just like if you were cut and blood surfaced, it appears to be normally colored/slightly more bright, and it appears to be on the surface of the stool, it doesn’t separate when in the water, so I’d say it is in the bowel movement, but on the surface, I’m 17 and am not exactly fit but also not too lazy, and I haven’t been experiencing anything else out of the ordinary. Sorry for the overly long explanation, needed to include everything so you could help with what it could possibly be, I’m leaning towards piles or a fissure, but would like a second opinion to help me calm down and be less worried before I see a doctor, thanks in advance.

i have a very raw anal area. it is itchy all the time especially when im in going to bed. sometimes i have discharge from the anus.i have a pile since my first child but i dont think this is the problem because its shrunk to very small. i do have blood in my stool sometimes and i can feel what i think is little lumps inside my anus. i have been to the doc, i have been given three different types of creams to help the area heel but its not working? could it be cancer? any ideas?

Ok, in the past few months, I’ve started having a few problems. First, I’ve been unrelentlessly constipated (laxatives only give me short term diarrhea, but no long term effects). Eating oatmeal helps a little, but not enough. I get cramps and shooting pains in my chest, belly, sides, and lower back. I have searing gas pains. I get dizzy headaches, and am often nauseous. I feel fatigued, and unusually sleepy in the morning. And now, just recently, on the few occasions in which I CAN, in fact, poop, there’s blood. Today there was quite a bit.

I’m not expecting an official diagnosis here - I’m seeing a Dr. as soon as I get my Med. insurance from work this week - but are there any of you that might be knowledgable enough to know what this sounds like? Should I be a little worried, or very?

I forgot to ad my age, if that changes anything: I’m 23.

I have internal hemorrhoids and am due for my exam. According to doctor this is what they do:

"Your doctor can tell if you have hemorrhoids by asking about your past health and doing a physical exam.

You may not need many tests at first, especially if you are younger than 50 and your doctor thinks that your rectal bleeding is caused by hemorrhoids. Your doctor may just examine your rectum with a gloved finger. Or your doctor may use a short, lighted scope to look inside the rectum.

Rectal bleeding can be a sign of a more serious problem, such as colon, rectal, or anal cancer. So if the first exam does not show a clear cause of your problems, your doctor may use a lighted scope (sigmoidoscope) to look at the lower third of your colon. Or your doctor may use another kind of scope (colonoscope) to look at the entire colon to check for other causes of bleeding."

OMG, this all sounds painful! I’m only 23. I am 5′6" and weigh 140 which is mostly muscle as I’m very active. I’m a healthy eater…fruits, veggies, whole grains…I even cook and grow my own produce instead of buying processed foods. What could be the root of my problem? I’m terrified. Help.
I don’t over work myself by lifting weights or anything strenous like that…I do bike riding, hiking, soccer, badminton, tennis and yoga.
