Have been feeling unwell for a while now. I know there is definitely something not right with my bowel. I’m constantly flitting between diarhoea and constipation. Have had blood in my bowel movements(on occassions toilet bowel full of blood). Stomach is constantly bloated, passing alot of gas and occassionally get pains in the right and left side of my abdomen. Have also been feeling very weak and go quite pale. I’m hoping that it hemorrhoids or something like that. But watched my Mum’s brother die at the age of 35 due to bowel cancer and as I’m 28 its kind of scared me.. I was living in England for a few years and did go to see a doctor who did an ultrasound and said if that didn’t show anything he would send me for a colonoscopy, he didn’t and he refused and said that I was stressed out. My friends and family all say that I am one of the most chilled out people they know, so don’t know where that came from? I have since moved back to New Zealand as I had no family in the UK and have finally booked an appointment with my normal GP. I’m just wondering what other people experienced before they had it diagnosed?

for a few year’s now i assumed i had irritable bowel syndrome as occasionally when i go to the toilet it can be very painful but the pain goes after i relieve myself but a few week’s ago it happened again but this time it was very painful and i passed quite alot of blood, sometimes it was just blood and sometimes when i went to the toilet. for a week i felt very tired, breathless i was told this was due to the blood i lost. but 3wks later i’m having alot of back and abdominal pain in my lower left, i feel very bloated after i eat and find that i can’t eat as much as i used too. i feel run down. i’m very scared that it might be bowel cancer? i’m due to have a colonoscopy soon but wondered if anyone could help me, maybe someone that is going through the same thing? my blood levels are fine and the stool test came back negative. could it still be cancer???? PLS HELP. thank you :0)

I had breast cancer last year, finished chemo in Oct. For the past 3 weeks there has been blood in my stools. Sometimes there is a lot, sometimes none. Besides the blood I don’t have symptoms of hemorrhoids.

The only pain I have is a back ache which I’ve had since January. A recent had a bone scan has excluded bone mets.

I’m certain I don’t have bowel cancer, I’m too young for starters. I am going to see my GP but not for another 2 weeks. I just wanted to know if metastisis to the bowel is possible? I really don’t want anything else to be wrong with me.
I have been taking Tamoxifen since October 08

My dad was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer last year. He had an operation to remove the tumour and shortly after started Chemo. We found out recently that the chemo didnt work and the cancer had spread. He underwent a PET scan and we have recently found out that the cancer has spread in his peritoneal, stomach lining and possibly his spine. The Dr’s have said there is nothing they can do except for more chemo to shrink the cancer but we cannot accept that. Does anyone know of any treatments anywhere in the world that will give my dad a better chance and keep him with us as long as possible.

Is there a difference between a malignant tumor and cancer? or does malignant basically mean cancerous? im a little confused

My dad was taken into hospital with bowel problems…things have been a little fuzzy since then. No one’s telling me anything…so im guessing the diagnosis was bad =/ I only know what i know from listening in on my mum when she thinks im not and when i saw her mouthing stuff to my aunt…At first she was just saying he had an obstruction in the bowel. Then i saw her mouth to my aunt that they think its malignant.
I know a little about tumors as my little sister had a benign meningioma in the brain a few years back, thats how i recognized the word malignant…as they were trying to figure out what my sisters was at the time….but anyway she was ok after they removed it.
i hate that my mom isnt telling me anything…
Could you shed some light for me on the situation or what you know about bowel cancer/tumors
I know my dad has been having bowel pattern problems…he’s been going really late at night, several times…and i think he had some blood in his stool =/ ive been looking up bowel cancer all nite and it seems to be the case….any advice? x
