My dad has just been diagnosed with bowel cancer and has to the hospital for tests on wednesday to see if it has spread.

What will happen after that? How long will he be in hospital for?

Im worried i may have it. I was wondering if you could tell me the symptoms you had and how severe it was and how long did you ignore it before going to the doctors?

Did it get worse over time? Give me as much information as possible, thanks.
Just to add, im 18 years old and being worrying about finding blood on the toilet paper for 3 years now.
Iv ignored it for 3 years because i dont want to believe it could be anything serious, its too embarrassing and i hate how they diagnosis Bowel cancer, with scopes going up your butt….

I know its rude to be thinking like that, but I myself was diagnosed 5 months ago with bowel cancer and am currently fighting it. And ever since, when I hear people who have life changing experiences because of a cancer scare, or ask stupid questions like does lip gloss give you cancer, it really gets on my nerves and I just think "shut up!".

Do any other cancer patients or survivors feel that way too?

Today I found out my uncle has bowel cancer. He has apparently had the symptoms for a while but has not gone for help about it. He is now in hospital and my dad (his brother) says things don’t look good for him… Also if there is the chance of death can someone please tell me the possibility of survival? Thank you

Hi, Im 18 years old and was wondering if I have Bowel cancer or If its common in people my age.

I am healthy (as far as I know) and have noticed that when I wipe after going to the toilet there is sometimes blood on the tissue but not in the actual stool. I dont wipe too hard and I sometime have to push a little harder. It happens once in every 2 weeks at the most, but it still makes you wonder eh?
