This is a bit embarrassing but over the last couple days I noticed some irritated tissue near the anus…is this an external hemorrhoid or something else? Could it just be from wiping too hard? I’m a little concerned – below is a photo of them.

I desperately need help.

For two months now there’s been a growing hard lump about the size of a grape that’s in a VERY STRANGE position to be either a hemorroid or vulvar cancer… It resides about an inch away from my anus, a half inch away from my pertonium, and another half inch away from the bottom of my vagina on the left side. For the last two months I’ve been treating it with hemorroid cream and it’s fluxuated between getting better and worse for no explainable reason. Yet for the last two weeks or so I’ve been experienceing a growing discomfort with it, unyil finally last night when I went to the bathroom (to go #1) and wipe I discovered blood on the paper. To my horror, the bumps center is gone (the size of the tip of my pinky finger) and tissue, bleeding tissue is protruding out through it a short ways. WHY is there tissue coming out of it???? And what is it!?!?

I have external hemorrhoid and whenever I go to toilet my anus starts hurting.
I will be going to the hospital tomorrow.
I’m kind of embarrased for the doctor to look down there. (natural).
Is it 100% certainty that the doc will look down there ?
I’m already taking a laxative, any other comment or advice will be APPRECIATED!!

I was on the phone to my friend like 15 minutes ago and i suddenly felt like i had something around my anus that was irritating me and my it was a bit itchy. After our call ended i went to the toilet and my anus area was really irritating me so (as gross as this sounds) i checked myself in the mirror and i saw a little pink lump covering my anus, i described it to my mum over the phone and she said its piles. Im only 15 and i heard that usually older people get it! Is there any way i can help it get back up? and how long will it take? Thanks.

I have some excess skin around my anus that is not painful, and I don’t recall it ever being painful. It look a little bit like labia skin, except around my anus, about the size of a small peanut. I showed my doctor, who says it is probably a remnant of a very old hemorrhoid, and told me since is doesn’t bother me, the best course is just to leave it alone.

However….I’m pretty embarrassed by it with my current boyfriend (and partners in the past). Because I’ve had it all my life, I assumed everyone had it, lol. When I discovered they didn’t, it made me self conscious, especially as I engage in anal sex. I’ve never had any "complaints", but I would still like it removed. Any experiences with this kind of removal? How long does it generally take to heal? Does it make the anus look "normal"? What techniques are the latest and greatest? My doctor seems to consider this a cosmetic surgery, and as such, thinks my insurance probably won’t cover it. Thanks for any advice.
