Hello!
Im female and 21 years old. About a month ago I noticed that I had very large amounts of bright red blood in the toilet with my bowel movement. It occurs about once or twice a week. I try and see if there is any blood in the actual stool but there is so much blood in the toilet I can’t see the stool. When I wipe it is like someone just had a VERY VERY heavy period. I went to the doctor and he said that I don’t have any internal or external Hemorrhoids or anal fissures. He thinks it might be ulcers and put me on a high fiber diet and Prilosec and this still occurs. I was supposed to go back after 2 weeks, but I work 2 jobs and haven’t had the time. Since I already know its not Hemorrhoids or anal fissures, what else could cause A LOT of bright red blood in the toilet when I make a bowel movement once or twice a week?
I hope someone out there can give me some advice/insight…
Approx 3.5 weeks ago (after some heavy lifting- moving furniture) I developed a very painful hemorrhoid, I experience some bleeding. After 4 days I went to the doctor (a dr i have never been too and would not prefer to go back to – did not seem to know what she was talking about). Based on a visual exam (pain was too intense to do any further exam) She told me that I was experiencing both hemorrhoids and anal fissures. She had to call in another dr (who did not examine me), he prescribed proctosol hc 2.5% and recommended stool softeners and sitz baths. A follow up appointment was not recommended or scheduled. It has been 12 days since that appointment- while I am much better than I was I am still experiencing moderate to severe pain 90% of the time. The problem felt like it was on my left side, over the last few days I have started to experience mild pain/discomfort on the left side of my vagina, my perineum also appears swollen and is somewhat tender. Deification has improved, it is not regular yet and pain is increased afterward.
Should I been 100% better at this point – is it normal to take nearly a month to recover from something like this or could there be something more serious going on? I have experienced hemorrhoids only once before – mild pain, went away in a few days. I am otherwise in good health and shape. I hope that someone as some legitimate advise – aside from "go back to the doctor"
Thank you
Hi i am a 25 year old male.I have had for about 2 months now a dull gassy like pain in my upper right side of my abdomen.sometimes when i lay on that side at night if feels like a knot in there other nights i feels nothing at all.Along with it i have been passing alot of gas and i can feel my stomach just turning sometimes. The pain has never been freakishly intense just dull. One of the main issues i have is that along with all that i have 2 anal fissures that i’ve been currently trying to heal as well.I have had them for about 6 months.I went to the doctors and they performed a complete blood count and evreything came back normal. They also performed an abdominal xray and all that it showed was that i had was mild to moderate "colonic fecal retention" which i had no clue what that meant.I also went to a GI specialist because my anal fissures bleed and it began to worry me and he did an examination and said that along with my fissures i look to have some internal hemorrhoids as well but he wanted to treat the anal fissures first he said that both fissures are north and south of my anus which makes him think that they are just "regular" anal fissures and not a cause of something else. And with my all my symptoms he said that although he couldnt 100% rule out me possibly having crohn’s disease…due to the location of my abdominal pain he didn’t think i had it.He gave me some ointment for my fissures and i have another appointment in 6 weeks with him to see how much progress the fissures have made and along with the ointment that i just received i have also increased my fiber intake to help heal the fissures. This has been a pure nightmare for me and it has made me very nervous and killed my mental mindset.I wish i could get some peace of mind but i’m scared i have colon cancer or something like that.Like i said im only 25 years old i’ve never had any problems like this till now so i’m freaking out.Can anyone give me words of wisdom? I would greatly appreciate it.Thank you so much!
I was just diagnosed with some pretty bad anal fissures and was told I need to go on a very low fat, high fiber diet. What would be some good food choices? If you have time, I would really appreciate some meal guides and recipes, as I love to cook. Thanks!
the doctor prescibed constipation syrup, diosper and procotosedyl since he said that i had constipation, anal fissures, piles. The doctor said to see the outcome after one week. During the medication period of one week. I ate fruits and vegetables everyday, and passed motion, NO blood was in the stool. i didn’t consume fruits and vegetables on two days, and when i passed motion today, there was blood. i am very scare now.
