A surgeon is consulted and the patient is taken to the operating room. An incision is made in his right lower quadrant and a loop of intestines is found with the following characteristics: haustrum, taenia coli and epiploic appendages. The surgeon asks the 4th year medical student observing the surgery what part of the intestine this is and he correctly answers:
ileum
jejunum
stomach
ascending colon
rectum
I know its not my appendix. It doesn’t hurt at all when i put pressure on my side…anywhere. Its only when i have gas or a BM. Its been going on for 4 days now, and its not as bad as it was in the beginning, just wondering what is is? Did i pull a muscle, or do i just need to eat more fiber? I have been drinking lots of water and taking it easy to be safe.
Heres a diagram showing where it is

Hi, this is a really weird question, but sometimes I press my stomach (a few inches under my belly button on the left) and feel a sort of long mass thingy. It’s not on the right, and I think I’ve noticed it for a very long time. But it’s not on the right side so I’m kinda worried. Aaaanyway, I was wondering if this could be my colon or maybe another part of my anatomy??
I’m pretty thin, but not really thin. Hmmm…I was just worried cuz it’s not on my right side.
