how long can a person have small bowel cancer?
I’ve been feeling bad for about 3 years and just thought, hmmm what if it’s small bowel cancer?
I’ve had some particularly bad problems in the last 8 months but even then, not something too dramatic…

No one can answer your specific question. But in general cancer is a progressive disease, which means it starts tiny, begins growing, and will grow indefinitely unless treated. Cancer types grow at different rates .. some are slow growing and take years while others are aggressive and can take months or weeks. You may need a colonoscopy to look for evidence of disease. Contact your gastroentrologist if you are concerned and allow him to do a complete examination.

do you mean colon cancer ? and you would have noticed it by now , syptoms would be very noticeable
Small bowel, a.k.a small intestinal cancer is very serious but it’s a disease that affects older men and women more so than those under 40. If you ever have blood in your stools that would be one sign that cancer is a possibility but feeling bad is a very vague description to go by. Usually cancer strikes the large intestines and can be detected by a colonoscopy.
