Tell your doc about the anxiety you are having and an anxiety med can be prescribed for you to take at home before you go in for the procedure. This has been the case for people I have known in the past.
Just think of the pain relief afterwords.
excision is surgery to remove fissure, definitely under general anaesthesia.my hubby’s friend had it done.it is safe, and best to ask your Dr about the details.Make sure, you take some time off from work.these days Dr’s say everything is "day surgery", they do operation and in few hours you can go home.the friend, who had surgery, went to the bathroom, was straining to make #2:burst the stitches on the inside!
had to have surgery again, to stitch him up(inside)
make sure, the Dr gives you prescription for pain killers.
i have a fissure, i haven’t had surgery yet.Are you bleeding a lot, or have lot of pain?in that case, do the surgery.
Hello, my husband just had the anal fissure surgery last month. It was surgery however he got to come home that same day. He did ok but for a week or two he was very sore and bruised. He said he does not hurt like he did and that it is for the most part better now so the surgery did do him some good but as with any surgery you are going to have bruising and soreness he just had a lot of pain. But he said it is now nothing like it was before the surgery, and that you can’t do anything to prepare for it but you need to have it done if the doctor recommends it. So good luck and wished I wished I could be more helpful, if I wasn’t.
The question is whether you want to continue suffering the pain every time you have a bowel movement. If you are willing to, thru out your life, then don’t go for surgery.
I have this anal fissure. Wanted to have it surgically removed, but the doctor advised against it, saying it was a very minor fissure and can be healed thru medication. Surgery wasn’t required.
What I am telling you is that, doctors wont advice surgery unless it is very much required.
Friend..take heart.. listen to your doctor. They are the best judge. You are not the first case who had anal fissure removed surgically. This is a tried and tested method of cure.
There is nothing to be afraid off.
best of luck……
