colonoscopy and hemorrhoids?
I have an external hemorrhoids, possibly a fissure. I went to doctor for this. I do have some bleeding when i have a BM. Doctor wants to do a colonoscopy just in case. He says i shouldn’t worry because of my age (20). My question is during the colonoscopy will the dr. go ahead and fix my hemorrhoid or fissure while i’m sedated anyways?

If you talk to your doctor you will find that they generally don’t actually ‘sedate’ you. They use a drug which basically puts you into a condition that you won’t remember where or what happened. Like being on a drunk where you wake up and don’t remember anything.
Since actually removing hemorrhoids would prob require some type of surgical procedure I don’t think you could do it while you had a colon.
The best person to ask this is your doctor. Don’t be afraid to ask questions for gods sake it’s your body. Besides the fact your paying for this.
I don’t think so. Chances are, they will make another appointment for that. Ask the Dr, though!!! That’s your best bet.
No they wont hun.. they should but they dont.. i went thru it to.
Likely no. Colonoscopy can remove polpys, take biopsies and give a camera view of your colon. If you have an external hemorrhoids, it will be treated conservatively, like less straining, fiber or if resilient to these, banding. The fissure is usually left alone to heal on it’s own and also treated conservatively. Simple things to help now would be not to bear down when your pooping. Take fiber daily, and listen to your body when you have to go, get into a pattern. No trauma (i.e. anal sex) and you can used baby wipes instead of paper.
Good luck, hope this helps.
