A laxative has no effect on colon cancer but not having regular bowel movements does increase your cancer risk. When the contents of the colon pass through more slowly there is an opportunity for toxins and carcinogens (substances which may induce cancer) to be in prolonged contact with the bowel wall which is where cancer starts. Fiber, docusate sodium, and milk of magnesia (depending upon various factors) should regulate your bowel habit without the need for laxatives.
Not necessarily but you should ask a doctor.
No not at all……..
I dont know I dont think so. If in doubt ask your doctor or the chemist about it.
no it will not but eating more chesse will help you and alsotaking laxitives will make you become dehydrated.
no but any regular use of laxatives will create more problems than it solves…if you were comfortable and had no problems at once every 2 weeks, let it go at that.
Not having frequent enough bowel movements is going to cause you problems as there will be a toxic built up in your body. It is therefore not so much that taking laxatives will increase your risk to bowel cancer.
