I just had a colonoscopy and my doctor told me to go on a high fiber diet. Any suggestions?????
Hi,
I am 16 years old, female, 5’5" and 133 pounds. First of all, I would like to lose about 10-15 pounds.
But, I had a colonoscopy yesterday. I am awaiting the results, but my gastroenterologist (spelling?) told me to go on a high fiber diet.
Can someone help me please plan a few days meals, or offer suggestions of high fiber diet plans.
Thank you.

I also suffer from intestinal problems. I recommend soluble fiber over insoluble fiber. Soluble fiber gets broken down in the body and insoluble fiber doesn’t, so it may aggravate an inflammed intestine. Here are some sources of soluble fiber:
Dried beans and peas
Nuts
Barley
Flax seed
Fruits such as oranges and apples
Vegetables such as carrots
Psyllium husk
Also focus on imporving your emotional state. Are you angry at someone? Do you suffer from anxiety? If so, you need to conquer these problems in order to improve your medical condition.
All-Bran and Fiber One are really good source of fiber.. so are a lot of vegetables and fruits like broccoli, spinach, apples, oranges, strawberries, other fruits
I think you’re fine just the way you are. No need to shed any extra lbs :]
you need 25-35 grams of fiber a day breakfast eat a high fiber cereal(look on side of cereal box fiber one is high plus during the day eat 4 slices of wholegrain bread 3 servings of fresh fruit plus 1 potatoe or 1 cup of brown rice or 1/2 cup of whole grain pasta plus 3-4 servings of veggies plus 1 cup of bean soup or some other kind of bean type soup
Just take fiber-con tablets
