is this dangerous to do yourself?
hi, i have an external hemorrhoid and iv had it for around 2 years (at least). i heard they do a treatment where they put a band around an internal one and it falls off..something like that anyway.
is it dangerous to put a tiny rubber band around it myself and see if it works?
im not in pain or anything. just having it there is driving me insane

I don’t think that is an especially good idea. Having been an instructor for emergency medical procedures for the past 5 years in the military, I would not do that to anyone nor would I recommend anyone doing that to themselves. I would however recommend going to see a doctor about it and let them handle it. At least you would have less chance of getting that problem infected and having to have more medical procedures done to fix that. Doing something like this yourself may result in uncomfortable, embarrassing, painful, and needless torment to your body. Including but not limited to death.
If this is an effort to save a couple of dollars, while I commend you on your do it yourself, go get em’ attitude, the cost incurred by possible infection or other complications will far outweigh the original cost of getting it done right the first time by a professional.
no idea, I wouldn’t do it though. if I were you
YES! A hemorrhoid is a blood vessel, you could rupture it and bleed, OR it can get infected(dead tissue), Gross, Go to the Doc.
I would not take a chance. See your doctor.
Sure…doctors use the same band and you can buy in your corner store. DUMMY.
Either have a doctor do it, or go away.
its dangerous to attempt any medical situation yourself. Just go to your normal doctor and ask to get some pamphlets about the treatment.
yes do not do that unless you dont mind dying
well im not sure…….but you should just get it done properly from the doctors or something
Just go to a doctor. Don’t take a chance on doing it yourself. It’s better to be safe then sorry.
Don’t do it,you could be risking strangulation of the area of blood supply and this would tempt gangrenous infection and possible septicemia and death.Go to GP,they can treat them with frozen ice and/or ointments i believe.
uhh….I have no clue what your talking about but if you have to ask yahoo answers because your unsure then its probably not the smartest idea.
You can phone the health line and ask the nurse. It is free in Canada. Just ask if it is safe and how you would do it. It sounds like a fairly simple thing to do, on the other hand, if you get an infection, you will be one sorry patient! If you get bleeding, you risk infection, and that is not a good spot for infection. The link is to self-help.

If the bleeding is minimal, get OTC hemorrhoidal ointments/creams/foams/suppositories or do Sitz baths for 15mins, 3-4 times a day, eat high fiber diet and increase water intake…..
hemorrhoid banding requires physician expertise…you’re not a physician.
i would see your doctor about it so they can do it correctly-you don’t want to make it worse.
Now thats an old wives tale do not try it see your gp or attend your local hospital if you are that concerned
