I have a hemorrhoid that burst when having a BM, do I need to go to the ER?
Since yesterday I’ve felt this pain in my butt I had my girlfriend look at it and she found a picture of what she said it looked exactly like, a thrombosed hemorrhoid, plus I was diagnosed with hemorrhoids; anyways, tonight while going to the bathroom it burst and there was blood in the water and all over the TP. Do I need to go to the Emergency Room? I already have a doctor’s appointment on Friday, today is Monday, do I need to see a doc before that? Is there a chance I could bleed to death if I don’t visit a doctor before friday?
The blood looks bright red but if i hold it on the wound long enough it looks similar to a bloody nose blood, keep in mind this happened maybe an hour ago.
How long did your bleeding last?

I’ve had the same thing happen and I never went to the hospital and I’m fine. This was months ago. I don’t think you need to go to the ER but if it keeps bleeding, definately go.
Does the blood look cloty does it look like old blood?
Bright red blood on the stool is quite common by hemorrhoids. You do not need to go to ER. Change what you’re eating – avoid drinking coffee, black tea, alcohol, avoid smoking, drink lots of water and be sure that the water has a good pH (7.5 – 7.9), eat more vegetables
(avocado is great to make soft bowel), eat fish and white meat (chicken, turkey) in small quantities. The softer is your stool less chances are that the hemorrhoid will break and bleed.
Thrombosis literally means blood clot.
When you get a thrombosed hemorrhoid, you have a clot of blood stuck in the hemorrhoid itself, and it can either partially OR completely block blood flow both in and out.
If blood flow is completely blocked then yes, this can develop gangrene apparently in a small number of instances.
