Is on going bleeding from hemorrhoids common and/or a problem?
For the last 3 years I’ve been suffering from regular bleeding episodes when going to the toilet. This may typically occur once every couple of months and last for about a week with bright red blood filling the bowel! As I am currently in remission from an unrelated rare form of cancer, every symptom I experience is always a bit of a concern. I’ve had a colonoscopy some 12-months ago and all was clear, been to the GP on a number of occasions and his conclusion was hemorrhoids which I can try using ointment, live with it or consider surgery! Regular checks with my oncologist seem to present with no cancer related issues, but I still get quite alarmed and concerned when I see a blood stained toilet bowel! Any knowledgeable and educated opinions would be appreciated.

I have heard the surgery isn’t the greatest thing to do but it does cure this mess and it stops what you are having trouble doing. you were right to have those tests run and i would just get suregery and take care of the problem cause its going to be there long time more and the older you get the worse it will get. seeing you are not cancerous it could accur caus eof those prolbems i wouldn’t take things so lightly.
i totally know this one. well my episode anyhow. fisher….a tear in the rectum. no cause for alarm. scary …. bleeds alot. …. its called a Fisher. ask doc next time.
There is a pretty simple procedure your doctor can do in his office, well, at least most doctors can do it in the office.
Injection sclerotherapy is a medical procedure used to treat small internal hemorrhoids. This fixative procedure uses a chemical that scars the tissues and cuts off the hemorrhoids’ blood supply.
The doctor injects the chemical into the vein within a hemorrhoid. The chemical causes the vein to harden and the hemorrhoid tissue to die. A scar forms in place of the hemorrhoid on the wall of the anal canal. The scar tissue, which is firm and thick, holds nearby tissue and veins in place so they don’t bulge into the anal canal.
Bleeding from the anus occurs 7 to 10 days after the procedure, when the hemorrhoid falls off. Bleeding is usually slight and stops by itself.
You may use mild pain relievers and sit in a shallow tub of warm water (sitz bath) for 15 minutes at a time to relieve discomfort.
To reduce the risk of bleeding, avoid taking nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) for 4 to 5 days both before and after injection sclerotherapy.
Health professionals recommend that you take stool softeners containing fiber to ensure smooth bowel movements. Straining during bowel movements can cause hemorrhoids to recur.
You can insist that he do something or refer you to someone who can help, if he won’t.
Tell your doctor about this issue. This is something that can probably be fixed by the RIGHT person, and that person is not you.
My grandfather suffered from bleeding whenever he went to the bathroom for several months. He ignored the problem and went on with his life. He would bleed every time he pooped. One day, he was in so much pain that he had to be rushed to the hospital. Before he got there, he died. He died from large intestine cancer.
Treatment for bleeding hemorrhoids is usually easy, though it may take a while to fully heal. Here is given some of them:
1. The first step is to correct and prevent constipation. For this, include lots of high-fiber food in your diet such as bran, beans, fresh fruits and vegetables and whole grains, and drink enough water (at least 8
glasses per day).
2. Don’t sit or strain on the toilet for long.
3. Sitz baths either in the bathtub or in a special sitz bath that fits over the toilet can help too.
4. use soft moistened toilet paper to clean the area as well as possible. You can use either warm water on plain, unscented toilet paper or use a medicated tissue. Witch hazel or aloe vera moistened tissues are particularly soothing.

Bleeding is quite common symptoms by hemorrhoids. Nevertheless, to be sure the bleeding is from a hemorrhoid visit a proctologist.
You really don’t have to take a surgery!
