My cat has a swolen spot about 6 inches away from his tail on the right side…What is it?
My cat has a spot that is swolen. I looked at a pic of the anatomy of a cat and I couldn’t tell if it was an organ or not. It could possibly be where the spleen is in the picture, but it could also be the colon. It is about the size of a quarter, but is swolen to about the size of a bouncy ball that you get out of those toy machines. If anyone knows what it is, please let me know.
He isnt acting wierd or anything, and there are no visible wounds. He is still just happy as can be and quite plyaful as well. There haven’t been any changes in his eating habbit either.

Is it hard and hot – could be an abscess
Is it hard and cold – probably a tumor
Is it soft- Could be a lump of fat.
Maybe just a cyst or abcess:) Nothing serious, but get it checked out anyway. Sometimes they need to be removed by a needle.
could be nothing more than just a lump of fatty tissue.
could be…
go see your vet
It’s an abscess go see the vet
More than likely it is an abscess. Cats get them often when fighting with other cats. You need to take your cat to the vet, because it won’t heal by itself, and can get very nasty.
It is called a wolf, it is very common on cats or kittens that are outside alot, What it is is really gross its actually a worm or magget just inside the skin it will eventually rupture and be a sore and go away. Its really not serious, ask any older farmer type person this is common among cows.
It could be nothing. My cat has some of these and they don’t bother him at all (his are much, much smaller though). If it’s not bothering him, then you shouldn’t be too worried. You might want to have it checked out though, as even describing it to a vet doesn’t help 100%
probably a bit wound. It will probably abcess and begin to drain. You can wait until it does and have a mess or take your cat to the vet and let them either drain it or start your cat on antibiotics to prevent it.
I’d check for ticks. My siamese Mushy got a wierd lump on his side one time and I about freaked out. Turned out all he had was a tick embedded in his skin.
It could be cancer. An absess only shows if there was an injury to cause the infection. My advice is like everyone elses. Don’t ask us go to a vet.
you can ask vet’s at

surf this site… it could help, let them e-mail you
good luck!c",)
Take your cat to a vet; it could be an innocuous cyst, but it could also be a tumor. Better to check it out and be safe. Peace.
That excact thing happened to my friends cat and she took him to the vet just in case and all it ended up being was a bee sting on his belly.
Go ask a vet!! now!! or you might not have a cat for very long.
a toomet? idk ask a vet stupid
I would say a cyst or abcess my cat had 2 and you cant see them right away it takes time for it to build up fluid you didnt say if he is outside or got in a fight a small piece of a nail from a cat or anything could puncture and turn into something that becomes painful if it is hard or mushy it is one hard is the stage when its building up fluid mushy is when you can get it to open and release it
Are you sure the cat is a male?
