anal pain – piles?
Have been suffering pretty bad anal pain since my last bowel movement yesterday when there was blood in the toilet bowel. This is a fairly common occurence and I always assume is because i have piles & suffer from IBS. However though i have had some pain before after bleeding (not every bowel movement brings blood, usually only when having bad IBS) it has never lasted more than a few hours. The paini is driving me mad this time though, couold it be internal piles, or a fissure?

I too have IBS – the bleeding may be due to a hemorrhoid. If your bowel movements are firm and you have to push hard to go to the rest room, and it feels as though you are ripping yourself apart, you probably do have hemorrhoids. However, if what I just described isn't the case, and you have large amounts of blood in your stool, you may want to make a trip to your doctor quickly. Blood in your actual stool (not caused from a hemorrhoid) is a sign of internal bleeding.
