My 3 year old daughter has a hemorrhoid, should I take her to a specialist?
My daughter just turned 3, and she has always had constipation problems. The doctor said that she has a hemorrhoid and fissure caused from straining. He told me to just give her prune juice. I am just concerned that I should be doing more. Do I use cream? Do they need removed? How will it go away? Should I get a second opinion? She’s just a little girl and she is in pain and scared to go to the bathroom. I don’t want to take her to another doctor if I don’t need to. If there is a doctor or nurse that could give me advice, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Poor baby. She must be so uncomfortable.
I’m a nurse and a chiropractor. I’ve had several child and infant patients who were chronically constipated. The immediate problem was solved with gentle spinal adjustments. The intestines weren’t getting the proper innervation to function properly – either reduced peristalsis or spasms that constricted the bowel.
One baby was only having one BM a week and screamed while doing it. I gave him an adjustment and he immediately pooped his diaper without difficulty… and no more constipation.
Also. make sure she always has access to pure water, and encourage her to eat fresh fruits and vegetables – good fiber.

If it’s in your family budget, I recommend buying and using a Vitamix. You can make delicious healthy juices that kids will love.
Feed her lots of fiber the roid will heal as soon as the pressure goes away.
