Does a hemorrhoid go back into the rectum after its done swelling or does it stay out forever?
Im 18 and i have an external hemorrhoid about the size of a blueberry…I have been taking care of it with prep h…it doesnt hurt anymore unless i tense up my butt lol but I guess what Im asking is if I will have that bump forever…if its normal…and if It will shrink and go back where it needs to be?? and Can I go swimming?

It may improve on its own, or it might require treatment by a doctor; it depends on the exact position and type of hemorrhoid. Eating more fiber and using stool softeners can help it to improve. Depending on the specifics of your case, you might be able to push it back in gently with your finger. It might go back in on its own when it settles down, too.
If you haven’t already done so, have a doctor take a look at it. He can suggest the best way to deal with it. In extreme cases, surgery or other procedures are used to remove or reduce the hemorrhoid, but usually less invasive treatment works. You’re young enough that you don’t have to worry about cancer of the color or anything like that, but a doctor can still offer very specific suggestions for treatment after looking at it.
Swimming should not be a problem. Exposure to water tends to sooth hemorrhoids, especially if you sit in a warm bath at home after each bowel movement for ten or fifteen minutes (not very convenient, but often effective).
It will go in, if proper medicines are taken. And that is called healing or curing. What you have achieved is management.

If you are one of the lucky ones who increases the fibre in your diet and fluids so the bowel motions are soft and easily pushed out, then the hemorrhoids, with Prep H may actually return to the rectum without any physical help.
Usually though external hemorrhoids, which are external because the pressure popped them out, stay out unless manually put back in.
If they bother you too much you can have them surgically repaired. But in women they tend not to like this as women got pregnant and get hemorrhoids all over again.

Just keep on using the Prep H. Increase the fibre and water in your diet. And some exercise.
