BOWEL CANCER?? 13 year old girl SCARED CRAZY!?
i have had frank blood in my bowel movements. kinda like blood drops. and on my toilet paper too. i have cramps most of the time, most of the time there only small and before and sometimes after a bowel movement. i have irregular periods and breast and bowel cancer runs in my family.
sometimes i switch between constipation and diarrhea. one day i had severe diarrhea and cramping. when i get my period i have severe cramps for the first couple of days.
im 13 and im freaking out because websites i have searched my symptoms on say bowel cancer. im not on any medication but i do (when i remember) have ear drops for an ear infection.
i get gas often (how embarrassing)
and i get really tired all the time
i think i have been dehydrated so maybe that is causing it.
my friend suggests i go on the pill.
iv have literally half the symptoms of bowel cancer.
please help me im really scared.
i know ill probably have to go to the dr so dont say go to the dr/er.
thank you.

blessyou but i’m going to say it but go to the doctors s soon aspossible.
if you have the syptoms from what you have seen then it’s best to talk to somene about it in your family and plus it will gve your mind a rest
Everything wil be okay when you get it sorted
good luck
I would see a doctor.
But at your age I would lean toward a condition called irritable bowel syndrome more so than cancer. But of course, and as always, a doctor can give you more advice and do the proper tests.
You looked at all those websites about bowel cancer, and not one of them told you the simple fact that age is the biggest risk factor for it?
More than80% of bowel cancers are diagnosed in people over the age of 60. The chances of getting it at 13 are minuscule.
You say bowel cancer ‘runs in your family’; I suspect you mean some members of your family have had bowel cancer, which is not the same thing at all. Hereditary cancer is rare – fewer than 10% of all cancer cases are hereditary, and bowel cancer is no exception. And cancer diagnosed after the age of 50 is even less likely to be hereditary
And Andre is right – reading lists of symptoms for just about any illness can lead you to believe you have it.
Talk to your mother about this; if you don’t feel comfortable doing that, talk to your school nurse; she will be able to reassure you
You probably don’t have bowel cancer, the blood you describe might be because if you are dehydrated/constipated this can be harsh on your anus and makle little tears as you have a bowel movement. Honestly though you said it yourself, go to dr – they will probably be able to reassure you rather than diagnose cancer.
Can i be honest here? It you look up any illness those symptoms would be 1/2 of basically any illness there is. So just because you have had 1/2 of the symptoms associated with an illness definitely does not mean you have it.
honestly if you are that worried go and get an over the counter test and send it off to pathology
but to me it seems
Gass offten = normal = you will let rip 1/2 a litre of it a day.
tied = not enough iron, not exercising enough, not sleeping enough or to stressed over this
dehydrated can cause the tiredness, not drinking enough fluid
blood drops = this more indicates a fish (slice) or a pile – classic symptom
irregular periods and cramping – this happens at 13
the cramping could be associated to you getting to stressed over all of it, the irregular periods (which is normal at 13) or the running/hard poo
honestly i dont think you have bowel cancer at all.
A good idea is not to read symptoms on line as we can convince ourselves of anything – always consult a dr
You sound EXACTLY Like Me. But I have Irritable Bowel Syndrome. You can look it up if you wan’t but it describes your symptoms to a T. BTW the blood you see on the toilet paper and in the toilet are hemmoroids from your bouts of constipation, as well as Diarrhea. It is extremely RARE for a 13 year old to have Bowel Cancer. Please Look Up Irritable Bowel Syndrome. And yes, Severe Cramps, Diarrhea and Constipation before your period is COMPLETELY Normal. Been there, Done That. 35 Years now. RELAX…It’s nothing Serious.
