PLEASE HELP — How do I stop my hemorrhoids from hurting?
I have both internal (for sure) and external (I think) protruding out of my anus (this one is extremely painful).
I’m in my (very) early 20s.

I suffered with hemorrhoids for the last 14 months since I gave birth to my daughter. I went to the doctors on a few occasions and tried different creams which didnt work. I went back a couple of weeks ago and was prescribed some suppositories to use for a week and all the pain and bleeding has completely gone. I was the same as you, internal and external.
I was a bit concerned about using the suppositories but honestly it was absolutely fine and I am so glad I used them now!
my husband has this issue and what the doctor told him was to take a bath and just sit in the bath for a while and relax. This has helped him. I guess the hemorroid typically only comes back when he doesn’t have enough fiber in his meals and he struggles..so my recommendation is that you watch your diet and include plenty of whole grain, fiber and fresh fruits. Hope this helps
Purchase a tube of 1% Cortisone cream from you local pharmacy. This will take care of the external and part of the internal irritation. If you need something that will work internally, have the pharmacist recommend a special suppository for hemorrhoids.
Also, add Benefiber or Fibercon into your diet to soften your stools and avoid straining (the leading cause of hemorrhoids).
Love & Blessings
I cannot stress this enough
Get to your doctor and tell him you want them removed. I suffered like you did for 7 years and it ruined my life back then. My doctor kept telling me the operation was quite horrific and they can always come back, but it got to the point that I couldnt take it anymore. And the op was NOTHING I sat in hospital that night waiting for the anaesthetic / painkillers to wear off expecting to be in pain and there was none.
a few days later once I was home after a bowel movement was a "little bit" painful like a mild contraction. But nothing compared to the piles. that was when I was 23, so 16 years ago and I have never had any bother since.
As for relief just now, i take it you have anusol, prep h etc? Never really done much for me, you can try wrapping something from the freezer in a teatowel and sitting on that until it feels numb and then be very brave and trying pushing it back in
. But if yours were as bad as mine and they sound as though they are you will find it quite hard to get relief.
You have my sympathy, I remember it so well
I think preparation H is for immediate relief of hemorrhoid pain and irritation. To solve the problem though here is what you do. They sell hemorrhoid suppositories which help reduce them a lot. Take them as often as the directions say until your hemorrhoids are under control. Also to help reduce them, and as an ongoing process eat more fiber, and then take two things whenever you feel you are plugging up. Konsyl is one of the best fiber supplements. It doesn’t taste bad, but the fiber swells up in the glass rather fast so it’s like drinking water with wood pulp in it. Take this on a daily basis, or when needed. The second thing is mirralax. It’s a very good, very mild laxative. They sell it at most pharmacies I’ve been too in a white bottle with a kinda purple cap. It’s a white powder and you mix it in water and it dissolves away so the water looks like it has nothing in it, and you can barely even taste the stuff. Plus it’s very gentle and safe so you can be pretty liberal with the doses if you’re really backed up and not have a bunch of cramping and things that come with most laxatives. Use it whenever the need arises to get your bowels moving regularly again.
Hope this is helpful.
